On June 16th, Rapidemic founder Violette Defourt, joined Philips CEO, Frans van Houten, for a lunch lecture at the Erasmus Medical Center, organized by Graduate Entrepreneur. The two had met a year earlier for the Philips Innovation Award. During the lecture, Frans van Houten discussed the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in healthcare, and the different in ways in which he is personally, or through Philips, invested in this cause. Through her journey of founding Rapidemic, Violette illustrated the importance of innovation in medtech and shared sharing the company’s vision of diagnostics of infectious diseases.
